Cory Gardner, the former United States Republican Senate representative for Colorado, who served from 2015 to 2021, has joined the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI). The CCI council is a crypto advocacy group aimed to enhance dialogues with government and regulatory agencies on the benefits of digital assets.
In an April 7 announcement, the Crypto Council for Innovation confirmed the appointment of Gardner alongside three new members to the council’s leadership team. According to Sheila Warren, the CEO of CCI, the former senator will work alongside Amanda Russo, a communication adviser for the World Economic Forum, and Annie Dizon, a former executive adviser at TechSoup.
In addition, Katherine Wu, a venture partner at Archetype, will serve as the first CCI research fellow. Sean Lee, the former Algorand Foundation CEO, will serve as Operations manager in the Asia-Pacific region.
Gardner, the 48-year-old former senator and former member of the House of Representatives, will now serve as the new chief strategist of political affairs at Crypto Council for Innovation. According to Warren, Gardner qualified for this position due to his experience in Washington on building firm economic support and his commitment to Web3 and Crypto:
