Uniswap, one of the leading decentralized exchanges, has launched an interface that directly converts donations in ERC-20 tokens such as Aave, Chainlink (LINK), and Decentraland’s MANA into Ether (ETH). The new interface will allow digital assets to move into the official crypto wallet addresses of the Ukrainian government, all in a single transaction.
The recent crypto development appears amid the escalating Russian invasion of Ukraine, with the Ukrainian government now desperately in need of donations to cushion its severely deteriorating economic environment.
In a March 1 announcement, Uniswap confirmed the successful launch of a new interface that will now smoothly facilitate the conversion of ERC-20 crypto tokens to Ether (ETH). Uniswap explained that the Ukrainian government shared an address that only accepts Ether and Tether (USDT).
While commenting about the crypto advancement to efficiently facilitate crypto donations, the Uniswap team said:
“We built this interface so anyone who wants to donate but holds other ERC-20 tokens can do so with one click.”
Uniswap Launches Interesting Interface
The launch of the Uniswap interface has already attracted the attention of many people in the crypto community, with some members recommending a more secure digital asset custody approach. But interestingly, the Ukrainian government has further rolled out support for donation in Polkadot (DOT) earlier today. Remarkably, Gavin Wood, the founder of Polkadot, has donated $5.8 million worth of DOT through the newly supported address.
Buy Crypto NowIn the past few days, the Ukrainian government and non-profit organizations operating in the country have already received $53 million in donations at the time of publication. This figure does not include crypto donations between individuals or those made via various digital assets.
Notable donations initiatives include Kuna’s Reserve Fund of Ukraine, Come Back Alive, and Bitcoin (BTC), Ether, Tether, and DOT sent directly to wallet addresses verified by the Ukrainian government.
