Rarible, a nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace, has officially confirmed its integration with proof-of-stake blockchain Tezos on December 15. This partnership will enable Rarible to publish Tezos NFTs on its marketplace and support many secondary sales of live Tezos projects while simultaneously enabling the users to mint a variety of low-fee NFTs.
This multi-chain compatibility will enable the users of these platforms to trade Tezos NFTs on Rarible’s marketplace. Rarible’s partnership with Tezos marks the third layer one blockchain that is supported by the platform. The others include Ethereum and Flow, which is Dapper Labs’ blockchain network that supports the NBA Top Shot.
In Rarible’s effort to create a functional multi-chain platform that will consolidate the NFT space, integrations with Polygon and Solana are coming up next. Rarible CEO Alexei Falin stated:
Buy Bitcoin Now“Rarible firmly believes that the future of NFTs is cross-chain, and that interoperability is the key to a streamlined, successful NFT ecosystem. We have seen many alternative blockchains gain traction in the NFT space for their unique offerings, specifically Tezos for its low costs and energy-efficient minting process through proof-of-stake validation.”
The Rarible Tezos Partnership Introduction
This partnership will be introduced in two phases, as highlighted by the company. Users can already mint, buy, and sell new Tezos NFTs, and trade on the secondary market, beginning with some in-game metaverse collectibles known as Digits from the Ubisoft gaming corporation.
Then, Rarible wants to mint some new collections through custom contracts and also set up royalties for the imported collections that had already existed on Tezos previously. These two platforms have also introduced an introductory NFT collection that is known as Blazing Futures. The collection was curated by Diane Drubay, who is the founder of We Are Museums. Drubay is also a minter of NFTs on Hic Et Nunc.
The Blazing Futures drop consists of exclusive-to-Rarible work from ten Tezos-based artists. Falin also said that he hopes:
“Rarible users will benefit from an enhanced experience on our marketplace, while enjoying exposure to a wider array of NFT projects that exist within the robust Tezos network.”
This partnership and integration of services were made possible through Rarible Protocol, the open-source cross-chain community-governed NFT protocol that Rarible.com operates on top of.
