The first 2000 Metapunks were sold privately earlier this month. Today, it is open to the general public. There are many interesting things about this project.
These avatars are not just JPEGs. Unlike most of the other collections, Metapunks are highly-developed 3D models. The owners see their nonfungible tokens (NFTs) in a 3D viewer on the site or use AR to integrate Metapunks in the real world.
The avatars can be downloaded from the website, animated, and then imported onto different projects or metaverses like Webaverse. Moreover, every avatar comes with three stylish photos that can be used even on Twitter. This collection comprises eleven attributes that assure lots of variety.
Metapunks is one of the first big NFT collections hosted on Algorand. Despite its being a top 20 coin with a market capitalization of more than $10 billion, Algorand is yet to capture the attention of most crypto investors. For now, the Algorand ecosystem is still young and developing rapidly.

Another notable example is the official collaboration with the Drone Racing League that was announced on Decipher, the biggest Algorand conference that gathered nearly 400 participants in 2021. This project has an ambitious roadmap that is filled with potential. At the start of this year, they plan to introduce the META token, NFT Swap, NFT Staking, and other DeFi mechanics. However, the key milestone in this roadmap is MetaDAO, one of the first DAO projects powered on Algorand.
