After the establishment of a Web3 team under Google Cloud on May 6, Alphabet’s Google is now on the lookout for a full-time candidate to lead its Global Web3 marketing methods. The role will be responsible for raising awareness about Google Cloud’s Web3 initiatives. The group will also eventually build customer demand for the related offerings.
As recently discovered on the job listing, the Google Cloud segment launched a ‘Head of Product Marketing’ role. The new head will help in raising awareness about Google Cloud’s Web3 initiatives and help the tech giant to remain at par and in some cases ahead of competition.

In an email that was shared with employees just before the unveiling of the Web3 team, Amit Zavery, Vice President at Google Cloud, allegedly shared his vision to make Google Cloud the first choice for the developers in Web3:

Google Aims To Dominate Web3
Some of the main responsibilities for the new role in addition to spearheading the market initiatives include the development of annual plans for Web3 and driving awareness across various segments of the Web3 audience.
This job location is limited to New York, Sunnyvale, Seattle, and San Francisco. Google has been known to develop and discard many in-house initiatives. But, this is Google’s first attempt at diving into the Web3.
In a conversation with reporters during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2022, Gavin Wood, the Polkadot (DOT) founder, spoke about the evolution of Web3. Based on Wood, Web3 applications do not have the need to evolve past their current usage:
“I don’t think Web3 needs to evolve, really, from its origins too much yet but maybe in the future, it will.”
Moreover, Wood explained how Web3 pushed the conversation beyond smart contracts, Bitcoin (BTC), and decentralized finance (DeFi) into the underlying technology that powers the general world of crypto.
