ON July 12, reports emerged that Santander is set to host an awards ceremony in the metaverse later this week to crown the winners of a global blockchain challenge.
The Spanish banking giant is making its debut in Decentraland on July 14 when it is set to name the six challenge winners. Notably, this ceremony will also be streamed live n YouTube.
Nearly 400 companies from 11 nations entered this challenge that was looking for ideas that address issues like improving user privacy and security in blockchain networks, enhancing tokenization and DeFi, and boosting and expanding digital interactions with users via concepts like the metaverse and Web3.
So far, judges have already reduced the field to 20 finalists featuring 10 scale-ups and 10 start-ups. That number will be cut to three winning startups with each receiving €10,000 and three winning scale-ups, which are scheduled to get €30,000 each.
Buy Crypto NowCompanies will also gain access to Santander X 100, the bank’s community of start-ups that links them to training and advice, clients, capital, networking, and talent. Furthermore, they will be provided with an exclusive NFT designed by Oxentia Foundation.
Viewers that watch this final through streaming on Decentraland will have a chance to get wearables of the event: a bracelet and a cap that will enable them to customize their Metaverse avatars.
