Twitter unveiled a new feature that enables users to see the price charts of ETH and BTC, coupled with major stocks and ETFs.
Users on the social media platform can now directly check the price charts of Ether, Bitcoin, ETFs, and major stocks, by just typing the assets’ names or tickers into the search bar. Notably, the new feature represents an enhanced version of $Cashtags and features a clickable link to Robinhood on all the tickers.
Twitter Will Add More Symbols Soon
Twitter has already introduced a new feature that enables users to check the price charts of major stocks, cryptos, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Users can now search for a particular financial assets by typing their names or tickers into the search bar and see a price chart that links to the Robinhood trading platform.
This feature was unveiled on December 21 and represents an enhanced version of Twitter’s “$Cashtags.” This improved version now features price graphs for major symbols, as highlighted by the Twitter Business account. The account wrote in a statement:
“When you Tweet the symbol of a major stock, ETF, or cryptocurrency with a $ in front of it (like $BTC), people on Twitter see a clickable link that takes them to search results. Starting today, these search results will include the pricing graphs for major symbols.”
Twitter also mentioned that users could search for various stocks and cryptos directly without having to navigate to a link within a tweet. Furthermore, a majority of the assets will appear in search results with or without the ‘$’ sign ($BTC or BTC) or by just typing their name (‘Bitcoin’).
Twitter Business stated that the firm would additionally tune the user experience in the coming months and add more symbols. About crypto particularly, Twitter users can only check the prices of Ether and Bitcoin for now. This announcement was retweeted by Twitter owner and CEO Elon Musk, who was recently condemned by Tesla investors for being too distracted by his new acquisition.

The new $Cashtags feature is seen to mark the latest addition by the Twitter team under Musk, who purchased the social media platform for $44 billion in October 2022. It comes a few weeks after Twitter revamped the blue tick, a move that caused lots of chaos after a large number of fake verified accounts flooded the platform.
As stated earlier, the new feature includes a “View on Robinhood” clickable link that redirects users to the stock and crypto trading platform. From there, users can connect their wallets with Robinhood and execute crypto and stock trades.
Nevertheless, Robinhood and Twitter are yet to announce any official partnership, which means the new feature might be a Robinhood ad. This launch of $Cashtags was well-received by investors and the general Twitter community.
