General Motors is recalling tens of thousands of Chevrolet Bolt vehicles after the company became aware of “five fires involving the cars” that resulted in two injuries from smoke inhalation.

A notice was issued on Saturday for 50,932 of the vehicles in the U.S. dating from 2017 to 2019. General Motors said the battery could œcatch fire when charged to full or nearly full capacity, according to Bloomberg. In total, the measure covers about 69,000 Bolt vehicles, according to WSJ.Â

As a temporary fix, the company is reprogramming its battery’s œhybrid propulsion control module 2 to only allow charging to 90%. The company is exploring a permanent solution to the problem.Â

In the interim, GM says owners shouldn’t park their cars in their garages until having them re-programmed. While the company is still investigating the cause of the fires, it noted that the batteries were all near a full charge in each instance.Â

Twitter seems to want to fight fire with fire. That is why the company is hiring one of the world’s best known hackers to help protect it against – well, hackers.Â

It wasn’t soon after Twitter announced its latest “innovation” of copying “Stories” from Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat, that the company also announced it was appointing “one of the world’s best regarded hackers” as their head of security.Â

Going by the alias “Mudge”, Peiter Zatko was hired by the social media company and was given a “broad mandate” to enact any changes to the company’s structure and practices, Reuters reported. He’ll be in charge of everything from security to misinformation and will report directly to Jack Dorsey.Â

Zatko told Reuters he would look at œinformation security, site integrity, physical security, platform integrity — which starts to touch on abuse and manipulation of the platform — and engineering.

He has also said he is committed to “improving public conversations” on Twitter. We’ll believe it when we see it…

Overall, 62% of Americans surveyed Oct. 19-Nov. 1 said their life right now is “not yet back to normal,” while 34% said theirs is “somewhat back to normal” and 3% said “completely” so.
