A new survey by Gallup has shown that, on both sides of the political spectrum, he has surpassed expectations – both in a positive and a negative sense.
Democrats were surely pretty pessimistic once Trump was elected, but even their expectations have been exceeded. A majority 52 percent say that he has done worse than they had first feared. Likewise Republicans, buoyed by the promise of a strong-headed conservative at the helm after two terms of Obama were seemingly pleasantly surprised – 46 percent saying that Trump has done better than they had hoped.
