The National Basketball Association (NBA) has welcomed its 75th anniversary by teaming up with the digital asset trading venue Coinbase. The top US crypto exchange, Coinbase, and the National Basketball Association announced a multi-year partnership.
Following that, the former became the official crypto platform partner of the NBA, the NBA 2K League, the NBA G League, the USA Basketball, and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

This 2021-22 season of the NBA is a special one as it marks the 75th birthday of the League. To boost the fans’ involvement during the festive period, the NBA teamed up with the Coinbase digital asset platform.
As part of this partnership, this exchange will:
“create interactive experiences to engage with the NBA’s incredible community and athletes around the world.”
The platform will educate basketball fans on the increasing developments that were happening across the crypto sector. Coinbase’s logo will now appear on basketball games broadcasted on TV. Besides the NBA, the trading venue will partner with the NBA G League, the USA Basketball, Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), and the NBA 2K League.

The History Of Crypto And National Basketball Association
The Dallas Mavericks began accepting crypto payments for merchandise products and tickets earlier in the year. They include some of the leading assets like Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Bitcoin (BTC), and Dogecoin (DOGE).
Another club is the Sacramento Kings that recently joined the crypto craze. It joined forces with the blockchain firm Ankr; to educate all basketball fans about the development of the digital asset industry.
Notably, one of the most successful teams in the NBA, The Los Angeles Lakers, became the latest to join the list. This is the club where the legendary shooting guard Kobe Bryant spent his whole career. The club unveiled an official team sponsorship with Socios.com.
As part of this partnership, the platform will unveil virtual events targeting their fans. There, they are expected to get the opportunity to communicate with one another; and also vote on the topics that are related to their favorite basketball team.
