The United States launched its first air strikes on the Islamic State inside Syria last week, along with Arab allies including Jordan, Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
As David Cameron opened a debate on British involvement, polls are suggesting that the British public are increasingly supportive of RAF participation in the air strikes. At the end of August, approval stood at 37 percent but it has now increased to 52 percent.
