Econintersect: There are reports overnight of gun battles between police and federal agents in the Boston area. Reportedly two men “of medium build” are involved. It is reported that the men have used “bombs that looked like grenades” and also carried “what looked like a pressure cooker bomb”. The gun battles ensued after the two men reportedly shot and killed a campus police officer on the MIT campus. It is reported that “dozens and dozens of federal agents and military personel” are involved in the operation, as well as a very many policmen.
An eye witness, Andrew Kitzenberg, has reported that one of the two gunman fell to the street (as if shot or tackled) and the other escaped in an SUV by crashing through a line of assembled police vehicles. The action reported by the eye witness occurred in Watertown, MA.
