Updated: 19 April 2013 9:58am and 10:12pm (New York time)
The names previously reported from blogging sources are not the same as those since released by authorities: brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Tamerlan has been killed and Dzhokhar captured. More details in further updates below.
Econintersect: Bloggers are reporting that the names of the two Boston bombing suspects are Mike Mulugeta and Sunil Tripathi, a Brown University student missing since March. Econintersect has been unable to confirm those names from any other source and the identifications must be considered speculative and very uncertain until further confimation. Pundit Press reports that Mulugeta has been identified as the deceased gunman in Watertown, MA from police scanner messages. That report has not yet been confirmed by any other source.

At 4:05 am CNN reported that police
“…cornered the vehicle in the suburb of Watertown and arrested a suspect. He may have used explosives in the futile attempt to elude police, police spokesman Dave Procopio told CNN.”
A blog post citing the above CNN article indicated that the network was reporting a third suspect was involved. However, there is nothing in the article that Econintersect can interpret indicated there was a third bombing suspect. Since the CNN report conflicts with the eye witness report obtained by NBC which has supporting video, the individual may have been the second suspect captured after escaping the original Watertown shoot-out, or may have been an unrelated individual.
Update 19 April 2013 9:58am and following hour:
The suspects have been identified as brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev variously reported to have been born in born in Chechnya, Dagestan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The two brothers may not have been born in the same country. One facebook page (from Russia) reported to be that of one of the suspects, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, (note name spelling is different): http://vk.com/id160300242. There is an American Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/missy.willson.33?fref=ts which appears to have been established within the last couple of days by a third party.
There are still rumors that a third (or more) suspect(s) may be involved. There are various reports of additional explosive devices have been discovered around Boston. Econintersect has not located any official statement in either regard.
The entire city of Boston is in lockdown mode.

Update 19 April 2013 10:12pm
Authorities have confirmed that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been captured. He was taken into custody in a wounded condition, presumably injuries from the gun battle some 18 hours earlier (see link to videos above). Dzhokhar has been hospitalized in serious condition, reported to be suffering from loss of blood.
