While both Republicans and Democrats are very interested in the outcome of the 2020 presidential campaign, a new survey from the AP and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that many more Democrats are anxious and less excited about the election when compared to Republican voters.

In a survey of over 1,300 U.S. adults last week, the AP found that 66 percent of Democrats reported feeling anxious about the presidential campaign outcome compared to only 46 percent of Republicans. Democrats also showed a much higher percentage of frustration, with 62 percent of Democrats and only 42 percent of Republicans feeling frustrated about the election.

A noticeable difference in excitement levels was also highlighted, with Republicans reporting they felt 10 percent more excited about the campaign than Democrats.

Ultimately, time will tell whether interest, anxiety, frustration or excitement will play a larger role in getting voters to the polls in November.
