Econintersect: It may have been a down week, but most European stock markets closed higher on Friday (March 18). The two wayward borses were Madrid which closed essentially unchanged and Vienna which was down 0.9%.Stockholm led the parade with a gain of 1.5% for the day. Paris and Oslo each added 0.6%, while three markets, London, Geneva and Brussels, each gained 0.4%. Amsterdam and Frankfurt posted smaller gains.
