Far East Stocks Close Mostly Higher Wednesday - Tokyo Down

Econintersect:  Three of eleven major stock exchanges in the far east closed trading Wednesday (March 23) with advances of 1% or more.  Tokyo declined be 1.7% after having gained 16.8% over the five previous days.  Hong Kong and Seoul  were the two other down markets, with narrow declines of 0.1%.

Follow up:

Singapore (+0.7%) and Taiwan (0.4%) had subsatntial fractional advances.  Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia all had smaller fractional advances of 0.2%.
