NIDIS (The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Integrated Drought Information System) issues Drought Updates for various regions of the U.S. and this was just issued for the Southern Plains. It does not mean that this area will be subject to drought but that there are reasons to carefully monitor what is going on in the region. There were a lot of links in the document provided to me and I have converted some of those links into the graphics they referred to. I also added a map of the area of interest.
