I have become convinced that what America fears more than anything is NOT an economically powerful China, but rather a democratic ( albeit with Chinese characteristics) / rule-of-law governed China

WHY?
Very simple answer: because this would “legitimise” Modern China in the eyes of the whole world. At the same time it would discredit America’s recent past record of overthrowing evolving democracies in any part of the world where there were American business interests. This would, in effect, expose America as even worse imperialists and exploiters of other nations than even the British have been guilty of.
There is nothing in the “rule book” that says that western-style democracy is the “answer to everything”. Just look at the awful history of British colonialism and American recent imperialism to prove that fact.

So “corporate America” is now hell-bent on destroying China’s “SAR” experiment with peaceful evolution of democracy by instigating and even funding the past 4 months of riots and making sure they take the world front stage in the MSM , far ahead of the trade tariff war.
In 1980 Shenzhen was a tiny village on the northern border of HK. Deng Xiaoping had the genius to turn Shenzhen into a SEZ – a Special Economic Zone – wherein China could develop new economic policies in a “quarantined” area and if the polices were successful then spread them all around China (and those policies that were not successful were quietly discontinued)
HOW PRAGMATIC AND SENSIBLE!

Today Shenzhen rivals HK in economic prowess and indeed the successful lessons learned in Shenzhen (and in many other coastal SEZ’s) have been adopted throughout China with amazing success, which (partly) explains the economic rise of Modern China in the past two decades.
(There are many other reasons for the economic rise of Modern China, most of which are related to the sheer determination of Chinese people to succeed against all odds.)
It is my conviction that China has treated HK as a “Special Political Zone” or rather, to use the official term, a “Special Administrative Area / SAR “
This was/is (according to my belief) with two VERY long-term objectives – and do not be mistaken – China thinks VERY long-term !
Think centuries, not decades and certainly not years :
1. As a role model of how to introduce some kind of “democracy-with-Chinese- characteristics” to the whole of China in the next 100 + years, by which time China will have a big and powerful middle class which is intelligent and well-educated enough to vote rationally
2. How to reunite Taiwan with China in a peaceful way
America / “corporate USA” understands China’s long-term objectives and so it does what corporate America always does when faced with a rival – it tries to F**K THINGS UP (please excuse my French)
Thus the CIA / NED / (Taiwan ?) funded rioters in HK.
Hong Kong has become America’s “Vietnam” / “Custer’s last stand” against the rise of Modern China and China’s inevitable evolution into a nation ruled by law, governed fairly, peacefully and equitably (“democracy- with – Chinese – characteristics”) plus straight and honest fairness and a huge dose of “THE RIGHT THING”…. and zero racism!
I am now convinced this is the (very sad and sick) truth about America’s real motives vis-a-vis HK and China
America wants to DESTROY /DELAY the peaceful evolution of democracy and rule-of-law in China, so they trying to make HK a case in point and thus make HK a total mess and emerging democracy F***K UP by supporting the radicals overtly, covertly supporting the riots financially, and doing whatever mess they can do in a retreat.
Think! – the final weeks and days of retreat in Saigon.
SO I AND ALL CHINA (and all westerners who love and support China ) say to America (as per Clint Eastwood) :
“Go on – MAKE MY DAY !”
Thus my message to corporate America:
- You simply have NO IDEA with what country you are messing with
- IT IS CHINA WHICH HAS STOOD UP AND THERE IS NO STANDING DOWN!
- So I am equally convinced that China will eventually succeed!
- I am not just convinced personally, but I know it for a fact.
What China determines to do IT WILL DO!
I have seen Modern China stand up and grow strong in the face of all odds and I believe in the ultimate determination and resolution of the Chinese People (30+ years of work in the sticks and wilds of China convince me of that fact)
This is not so to say that “China will eventually rule the world” (although I think will be the fact 100 years later) but simply to say that with over one quarter of the word’s population China has the moral and equitable right to have a real say in how this earth, this world, OUR WORLD should be and will be governed in the future.
This is also not to say that China is the perfect role -model for emerging countries and democracies (e.g India or Indonesia / South America / the Middle East ).
Of course not! NOTHING is perfect until /unless we human beings become perfect, which may never be.
But I see China as the best-next attempt to be perfect.
I see China leading the world in environmental change, in social change, and – I truly believe – eventually in legal change
THAT IS MY MESSAGE TO THE WORLD
My single only regret is that I was born early enough (1948) to see the beginning of the Rise of Modern China (and even to play a tiny part of its economic growth from the 1980s till today) but too early to see the fruition, the glorious end when China will finally STAND UP IN THE EYES OF THE WORLD FOREVER!
THIS IS MY BELIEF!
