Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that’s triggered by a terrifying event — either experiencing it or witnessing it.
Roughly one quarter of 9/11 veterans are diagnosed with PTSD, and there are many more who have yet to be diagnosed. Each day, 22 U.S. Veterans will kill themselves, which is one every 65 minutes.
Many of these problems could be addressed by providing these veterans with the benefits they deserve. However, due to a myriad of reasons, these veterans are going without their much-needed VA benefits, leading to tragic consequences.
