Two examples of comparing President Biden with President Kennedy:
- Joe Biden is the 2nd Catholic president in US history after John F. Kennedy.
- Ex-CIA chief says chaotic Afghanistan exit is Joe Biden’s ‘Bay of Pigs’ moment.
I like example 2 above so much that I want to probe it further …

1. What is “Bay of Pigs”?
Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia – Bay of Pigs Invasion.
The Bay of Pigs Invasion (Spanish: invasión de bahía de Cochinos; sometimes called invasión de playa Girón or batalla de Girón, after the Playa Girón) was a failed landing operation on the southwestern coast of Cuba in 1961 by Cuban exiles who opposed Fidel Castro‘s Cuban Revolution. Covertly financed and directed by the U.S. government, the operation took place at the height of the Cold War, and its failure led to major shifts in international relations between Cuba, the United States, and the Soviet Union.
2. What is President Biden’s recent debacle in Afghanistan?
- His decision to finally end the War in Afghanistan was not only correct, but also supported by most Americans.
- He failed to plan and manage the ending process, causing Saigon-like chaos.
3. What did President Kennedy do after “Bay of Pigs”?
He recognized the mistake and became a changed man. Below is an excerpt from How the Bay of Pigs Invasion Changed JFK.
As a result of the disaster, Kennedy revamped the administration’s decision-making process. He instituted a more collegial atmosphere, in which pros and cons could be openly discussed. He emphasized consulting with allies and being concerned with the impact of international law on major foreign policy decisions. And most importantly, the focus of decision-making moved from the CIA to advisors the new president trusted, including his brother Robert Kennedy, the attorney general, and old friend Theodore Sorensen. The CIA and the National Security Council would be consulted, but they would no longer have total sway in the new administration.
The video below dramatizes JFK’s change.
4. What did President Biden do with regard to the debacle in Afghanistan?
He failed again and again to acknowledge the colossal failure in the “ending” process, and tried to talk it over by mixing it with the decision of withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The video below provides one example of how this debacle is viewed in Australia.
5. Discussion
President Biden’s debacle is still being played out, with no end in sight. Hopefully it will not get much worse.
Beyond that, the image below highlights the naked truth about America’s War in Afghanistan:
Will President Biden seriously address it once the debacle is over?
Highly unlikely!
Why is that?
Because President Biden is an old-fashioned institutionalist, focusing on building it back to 2016, instead of conducting any meaningful political reforms desperately needed for America. For more, read President Trump Was Bad; President Biden May Be Worse!
In contrast, President Kennedy not only acknowledged his mistake, but also started seriously challenging the establishment, especially the evil MIC (The Evil Military-Industrial Complex (V2)), for which he might have paid the ultimate price.

America, reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (History 2.0 – China’s Comeback vs. America’s Decline), or become a fiddle, second to China!
6. Closing
America’s worst enemy is America, with the MIC topping the list. Hopefully President Biden will challenge the evil MIC, even better than President Kennedy did!
