During the American Carnage (American Carnage: how Trump’s mob ran riot in the Capitol) on January 6, 2021, some rioters shouted “1776 again” while storming the Capitol Hill. This comparison was actually somehow valid for two main reasons:
- Each had a big lying slogan (“Stop the Steal” vs. “No taxation without representation”).
- Both were instigated by some lying leaders!

1. What is the American Carnage, anyway?
It was chiefly instigated by President Trump, who simply refused to concede his loss in the 2020 Presidential election, under a big lying slogan of “Stop the Steal”.

2. What is the American Revolution, anyway?
It was chiefly instigated by a bunch of rich people (e.g., Samuel Adams and John Hancock), who simply did not want to pay [more] taxes to the mother country. They conspicuously hid this real reason behind an eloquent slogan of “no taxation without representation“.
Below is an excerpt from What we get wrong about taxes and the American Revolution.
What kind of voice, then, did the colonists want?
Not only did they want to keep more to themselves (instead of paying [more] taxes), they also wanted the possibility of expanding British colonialism [further] to the South and West, on their own, without Britain!

3. What was the outcome of the American Carnage?
It failed.
- Its leader President Trump was impeached by Congress, with a trial by the U.S. Senate scheduled in February 2021.
- Many rioters are being arrested and prosecuted.
4. What was the outcome of the American Revolution?
It succeeded.
- Its leaders were named the Founding Fathers of America – No guts, no glory!
- 25,000 American soldiers died in the American Revolutionary War. They were no different from those died in any other war throughout human history: the children of the poor fighting the war of the rich!
5. Discussion
The American Carnage was obviously wrong, and most Americans can easily understand it.
In contrast, the American Revolution remains questionable, with most Americans not knowing the real reason behind it, let alone its profound implication …
6. Closing
The old is new and the new is old.
Hugely controversial as he is, President Trump did not really change America much in essence, but brutally revealed what it truly is: a failing state with a very questionable foundation!
