With China’s comeback, western [liberal] democracy looks worse and worse over time, from the overall economy to the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Why is that?
Western democracy is a lie!

Western democracy was built on top of capitalism (Okay), colonialism (not Okay), and imperialism (not Okay), thanks to the discovery of the “new” world in 1492, which ultimately made the West excessively rich, but the rest of the world excessively poor, resulting in two monstrous falsehoods:
- America as an exceptional country. Exceptional at birth, America has turned out to be not exceptional, at all. For example, today, America is facing the same challenges as many old countries (e.g. Egypt and China) faced and are still facing: governance.
- Western democracy as a, if not the only, valid form of government.
0. What is western democracy?
Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia – Liberal democracy.
Liberal democracy, also referred to as Western democracy, is a political ideology and a form of government in which representative democracy operates under the principles of classical liberalism. It is characterised by elections between multiple distinct political parties, a separation of powers into different branches of government, the rule of law in everyday life as part of an open society, a market economy with private property, and the equal protection of human rights, civil rights, civil liberties and political freedoms for all people. To define the system in practice, liberal democracies often draw upon a constitution, either codified (such as in the United States)[1] or uncodified (such as in the United Kingdom), to delineate the powers of government and enshrine the social contract. After a period of sustained expansion throughout the 20th century, liberal democracy became the predominant political system in the world.
Let’s examine it from six perspectives as follows:
- A form of government
- The rule of law
- A market economy
- Human rights
- A constitution.
- Elections.
1. A form of government
Despite many endemic problems, China’s system (i.e. capitalism + autocracy) appears to be slightly better than America’s (i.e. capitalism + democracy).

For more, read Towards an Ideal Form of Government (Version 4).
2. Rule of law
Overall, China has a better practice of “law & order” than America does.
For more, read: American “Law & Order” Is a Lie!
3. A market economy
Mixing the planned economy with “free market”, China’s hybrid model is better than America’s.
For more, read: Is American “Free Market” a Lie?
4. Human rights
Despite many problems, China is, overall, way ahead of America on “human rights”. Covid-19 has made it abundantly clear: the right to live!
For more, read: Is American “Human Rights” a Lie?
5. A constitution
The U.S. Constitution may be better written, but China is way ahead of America in governance.

For more, read: America: Between an Ideal and a Lie.
6. Elections
American politicians work for one paramount purpose: getting re-elected ad nauseam. As a result, there is practically no governing, but constantly campaigning for re-election only!
What, then, is the difference between a campaign and governing?

America, reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (American Democracy – Why is it failing & how to fix it?), or become a fiddle, second to China!
