On June 1, 2020, President Trump betrayed his country by using the military to drive peaceful protesters out of Lafayette Square, in order for him to have a photo taken in front of a church. This was an act of treason, for which all the participants are traitors!

1. What happened on June 1, 2020?
Below is an excerpt from All the Absurd Details We’ve Learned About Trump’s Church Photo Op.
On Monday, in a moment combining the aspiring authoritarianism and chaotic bumbling that has defined the Trump presidency, federal law enforcement officials forcibly removed a group of peaceful protesters from a park near the White House so President Trump could stand in front of a church and brandish a Bible.

2. What did he get?
A photo to impress his supporters!

3. Why did he do it?
Desperate for “getting re-elected ad nauseam“!

4. Why was it a treasonous act?
Two main reasons:
- The protesters were peaceful. President Trump violently trampled on their rights guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
- President Trump mixed peaceful protesters with looters, and misused the military against the former as if they were the latter.

5. Discussion
President Trump seems to have doubled down on every perceived “mistake” he has made so far, and survived. This act may well doom his chance of re-election.

5.3 Responses from the left
One example: Civil Rights Groups Sue Trump After Violent Dispersal of Protesters Outside White House. Below is an excerpt.
The American Civil Liberties Union and Black Lives Matter sued the Trump administration for what the groups called an “unconstitutional” and “frankly criminal attack” on protesters outside the White House earlier this week.
The federal lawsuit, filed on behalf of five demonstrators, comes after law enforcement used gas canisters and flash-bang grenades to disperse largely peaceful crowds gathered in Lafayette Square on Monday to protest the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd on May 25.

5.6 Summary
Like a human being, whose life is often defined by several milestones, a country is also defined by several milestones. Three examples for America:
- July 4, 1776: The birth of the country, with the publication of the U.S. Declaration of Independence.
- March 20, 2003: The launch of the Iraq War, thus ending America as we knew it, internationally at least! For more, read: History 2.0.
- June 1, 2020: President Trump’s treasonous act should have ended America, as we know it, even domestically!
America, reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (American Democracy – Why is it failing & how to fix it?), or become a fiddle, second to China!
6. Closing
President Trump, together with some of his cabinet members, committed a treasonous act on June 1, 2020! Do you recognize it? If yes, will you hold them accountable?
