Covid-19: Blaming China?

The Trump administration has utterly failed in handling the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in a tremendous number of infections and deaths in America. Yet, it tries to blame everybody but itself for the failure! Three examples of blaming China:

1. “Chinese Virus”

China denies it, of course!

Worse yet for America, China’s Xi recently did it together with Russia’s Putin (Putin, Xi slam attempts to blame China for late virus response).

3. Covid-19’s origin

It must be identified via a thorough investigation, hopefully by an international organization, such as the United Nation or WHO (World Health Organization)!

Here is a big problem when it’s done by the U.S.: credibility! Three big examples:

1. Do you know who killed JFK, really?
2. WMDs in Iraq?
3. Watch the video below – CIA Director Mike Pompeo bragged about lying about everything!

Bottom line: Hopefully, the origin can be identified and proven as soon as possible, not only for accountability this time, but also for future prevention! Meanwhile, any speculation must be contained as such: just a speculation!

4. Discussion

Covid-19 has been a total disaster, worldwide. The world is working hard on these three big tasks: (1) stopping the spread, (2) finding a cure, and (3) identifying its origin. Let’s always be on guard against politicization of any of these tasks, especially against any politically motivated speculation!

More broadly, a new virus will start somewhere on earth, posting existential threats to us as a species. It is, therefore, necessary that we all strive as follows:

1. Have a working government at home.
2. Work cooperatively worldwide (Gates Foundation calls for global cooperation on vaccine for 7 billion people).

Unfortunately for America, we have neither (America: A Great Country Without A Working Government?)! As a result, not only are we suffering the most in this pandemic, we will also suffer the most next time!

America 1st and America alone does not work (Trump halts World Health Organization-funding over handling of coronavirus otubreak)!

Blaming China will not make things any better for America!

China is very different from us, from the culture to the form of government. However, being different does not mean it’s bad!

China has its own shares of problems, from free speech to government transparency. Let them handle their problems by themselves over time, especially when we have so many problems at home!

What, then, are our problems?

Bottom line: Stop the blame game! Instead, help each other solve problems, including identifying Covid-19’s origin!
