America is deeply in trouble. “We the People” simply do not know what to do, other than periodically casting our vote of “no confidence” to elect someone very different to be the President – first Barack Obama, then Donald Trump. Unfortunately, neither has worked out. So, let’s keep looking – Who should be the next President and what should we look for?

How about Michael Bloomberg as the next Roosevelt?

1. Who is Teddy Roosevelt?

Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia – Theodore Roosevelt.

Theodore Roosevelt Jr. (October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919) was an American statesman, sportsman, conservationist and writer who served as the 26th president of the United States from 1901 to 1909. He previously served as the 25th vice president of the United States from March to September 1901 and as the 33rd governor of New York from 1899 to 1900. As a leader of the Republican Party during this time, he became a driving force for the Progressive Era in the United States in the early 20th century. His face is depicted on Mount Rushmore, alongside those of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln. In polls of historians and political scientists, Roosevelt is generally ranked as one of the five best presidents.[3]

2. Who is Franklin Roosevelt?

Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia – Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (January 30, 1882 – April 12, 1945), often referred to by his initials FDR, was an American statesman and political leader who served as the 32nd president of the United States from 1933 until his death in 1945. A Democrat, he won a record four presidential elections and became a central figure in world events during the first half of the 20th century. Roosevelt directed the federal government during most of the Great Depression, implementing his New Deal domestic agenda in response to the worst economic crisis in U.S. history. As a dominant leader of his party, he built the New Deal Coalition, which realigned American politics into the Fifth Party System and defined American liberalism throughout the middle third of the 20th century. His third and fourth terms were dominated by World War II. Roosevelt is widely considered to be one of the most important figures in American history, as well as among the most influential figures of the 20th century. Though he has also been subject to much criticism, he is generally rated by scholars as one of the three greatest U.S. presidents, along with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

3. What is so special about them?

Watch the video below.

4. Why are they particularly needed today?

Three main reasons:

  1. Both of them were hugely transformational for the betterment of America.
  2. Both of them were hugely socialistic – They wisely enhanced the power of the government to save America, thus saving American capitalism as well!
  3. They belonged to different political parties – Teddy was a Republican, while FDR a Democrat.

In case you are freaked out by the word “socialistic” or “socialism”, read: Societal Development: A Loop Theory.

Bottom line: Stop the silly discussion of socialism vs. capitalism, arguing for one without the other. A real country needs both, and a great country finds the best balance between them, like China does!

In other words, America must better balance between socialism and capitalism, in order to solve a bunch of big societal problems, from infrastructure, to inequality, to healthcare, to public education, and so on.

5. Discussion

America is desperately in need of a great transformational leader like China’s Deng Xiaoping. But that is a tall order. So, let’s settle with a Roosevelt-like …

I wished Donald Trump would be Deng-like (See image below published in July 2017). But he has proven to be a total disaster for America. For more, read: Defending the Indefensible against President Trump.

Now, Michael Bloomberg has just announced his run for the Presidency (Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg launches Democratic bid for president). Let’s give him a chance.

Will Bloomberg match up with the Roosevelts in greatness?

You will never know unless you give him a chance!

6. Closing

Both Teddy Roosevelt and FDR were fairly good Presidents. Let’s hope our next President will be Michael Bloomberg, who has the best chance to becoming yet another Roosevelt, whom America desperately needs today …

Now, please sit back and enjoy the short video below.
