This post was triggered by this recent news story: Trump Doubles Down On Racist Tweetstorm With New Attack On Democrats. While Trump’s Tweet attack on four minority Congresswomen was outrageous and totally unacceptable, no intelligent person should be surprised by it. Three main reasons:
- Democracy is mob rule!
- President Trump is a mob boss!
- American democracy is bad!

Let me elaborate on each …
1. Democracy is mob rule!

1.1 What is democracy?
Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia – Democracy:
Democracy (Greek: δημοκρατία dÄ“mokratía, literally “rule by people”) is a system of government where the citizens exercise power by voting. In a direct democracy, the citizens as a whole form a governing body and vote directly on each issue. In a representative democracy the citizens elect representatives from among themselves. These representatives meet to form a governing body, such as a legislature. In a constitutional democracy the powers of the majority are exercised within the framework of a representative democracy, but the constitution limits the majority and protects the minority, usually through the enjoyment by all of certain individual rights, e.g. freedom of speech, or freedom of association.[1][2]
Here is my simple definition of a minimalist democracy: one person, one vote.
1.2 When did America become a democracy?
America became a [minimalist] democracy in 1965 (Voting Rights Act of 1965).

4. Discussion
America is deeply in trouble. “We the People” simply do not know what to do, other than periodically casting our vote of “no confidence” to elect someone very different to be the President – First Barack Obama, then Donald Trump. Unfortunately, neither has worked out!
What’s wrong with America?
America: It’s Democracy, Stupid!

Specifically on President Trump, he had a chance to be great by reforming our failing political system (An Open Letter To President-Elect Donald Trump), as I have suggested (American Democracy – Why is it failing & how to fix it?).
Unfortunately for America, he did not listen.
Instead, he not only directly fell into the trap of our failing political system (i.e. getting re-elected ad nauseam), but also did it boldly without any pretense. Two informative readings:

In other words, President Trump has never dedicated even one single day to governing, but has spent every day in the White House on campaigning for his re-election in 2020!
What, then, is the key difference between governing and campaigning?

Still wondering about his non-stop bashing of everything non-majority, from Muslims, to [illegal] immigrants, to China, and most recently to four minority congresswomen? Wonder not – It’s “Trump 2020”, stupid!

Democracy is mob rule, and President Trump is a mob boss!
America, reform our political system, as I have suggested (American Democracy – Why is it failing & how to fix it?), or become a fiddle, second to China!
