While most people know Amazon for its namesake e-commerce platform, the world’s most popular online retailer has expanded its business considerably over the past few years. According to the company’s latest earnings report, online retail, excluding commissions from third-party sellers, accounted for just 49 percent of Amazon’s revenue in the first quarter of 2019, down from 64 percent two years earlier.
