Politically, the country is arguably at its most divided in recent memory, with President Trump and his politics polarizing the electorate like few before him. In contrast, some presidents are still looked back on with much more universal affection.
Gallup’s latest poll of retrospective job approval ratings shows that JFK is by far the most popular of the last ten presidents with an 86 percent. Despite being divisive himself, Barack Obama manages a respectable 63 percent, one year after leaving the White House.
