Can any country possibly be more exceptional than America, which was founded with neither a king nor a pope? Yet, today, not only is America most religious among the developed countries, she also seems to be yearning for a king, if not a God (Is Donald Trump a God?). When there is no authority to be trusted, many Americans resort to the Founding Fathers, as if they were Gods, regarding their writings as God-given. Why is that?

Two required readings as pre-requisites:
1. The Founding Fathers
Our Founding Fathers were mostly wise men, but none was able to see everything 200 years ahead. In other words, they did their best to form the union at the time (America: What Did Our Founding Fathers Do, Actually (Version 3)?), leaving at least three big things to us:
- Some key documents (e.g. Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution).
- The Constitution is a living and breathing document, which can be changed over time via amendments.
- Some problems (e.g. slavery).
In short, they laid a solid foundation for us, and it is up to us to make the union more perfect over time.
2. How have we been doing over the past 200 years?
Very well initially, but getting worse and worse over time!
Three good examples:
- Ending slavery.
- The Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives women the right to vote.
- WWII: Without America’s decisively involvement, today, the French could be speaking German and the Chinese could be speaking Japanese.
Three bad examples:
- Executive Order 10988, which allows public-sector unions. For more, read: Correctly Assessing President John F. Kennedy.
- The Twenty-sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which lowers the voting age from 21 to 18. For more, read: Repealing the Twenty-Six Amendment!
- Democratic Socialism and Democratic Imperialism.
Since the turn of the 21st century, America has been in a steep decline with no end in sight. Can President Trump truly make America great again? Yes, he can! But will he? Increasingly unlikely! For more, read: “Make America Great Again,” Really?
3. Discussion
Should we challenge everything, including the Founding Fathers, in search of the best solution for America? Yes, absolutely! Three examples:
- “All men are created equal”. False! For more, read: Not All Men Are Created Equal!
- “We the People”. Over the past 200 some years, we have changed the definition of “the People” from some rich white men (i.e. property owners) to everybody, including women as well as minorities.
- The Second Amendment? Eventually perhaps, but not right now. For more, read: The Second Amendment and More.
Here is a harsh reality in America: many Americans are nostalgic about the past, they are unhappy about the present, and they have no idea about the future. So what do they do? They keep looking back at the Founding Fathers, quoting what they like as the best tool against the ills of the past and the present, in hope for a better future.
Our Founding Fathers are still inspirational. But to possibly solve America’s real problems, we must look not only further back, by 2,000 years perhaps (Ancient Rome vs. Ancient China), but also much more widely beyond America, especially China (The U.S. vs. China), because everything is relative!
I believe I have the most accurate diagnosis for America, as well as the best solution. Better yet, it has all been documented in a book for you to read and judge!
4. Closing
Our Founding Fathers were not and are not Gods – They did not provide solutions to many of our current problems! But I do – Please read my book and judge for yourself!
