Up until the U.S. Presidential Election on November 8, 2016, there was a steady increase in traffic to news media sites.
After the election it seems, a sort of fatigue set in and visits to news sites dropped off considerably. However, in the new year and no so-called honey moon between President Donald Trump and the media in sight, traffic has picked up again.
This chart shows total mobile and desktop visits for selected U.S. online news sites (in millions).
