As the U.S. celebrates Presidents’ Day, who was the most popular post-war president?
According to historic polls by Gallup, John F. Kennedy has the highest average approval rating. Over his short time in the White House, Kennedy scored a rating of 70.1 percent. The last president to enjoy an average over 50 percent was Bill Clinton. It is of course too early to compare President Trump’s average rating. Nevertheless, Gallup has it at 43 percent.
This chart shows the average job approval ratings of U.S. presidents since January 1953.
