The militant Islamist group Islamic State (IS) that still holds sway over swaths of Syria and Iraq partially finances its self-proclaimed state through a system of fines.
These are payable for misconduct and deviant behaviour by its subjects. Our chart shows a small selection of those fines (and punishments). The data was collected by IHS Markit and further infos are available here.
