A recent study by The Money Advice Service has revealed that almost half of the UK adult population is financially unprepared for any significant unplanned expenditure.
44 percent of respondents reported that they have less than £100 in savings. This lack of back-up was most prevalent in Northern Ireland where 57 percent of adults are running on empty when it comes to money in the bank.
This chart shows the share of the UK adult population with less than £100 of savings, by country/region.
