The Trump campaign has finally acknowledged that President Barack Obama actually is a US citizen – which seems a little bit silly.

Only so-called natural-born US citizens (or those born abroad, but only to parents at least one of whom was a US citizen at the time) can become President of the United States.
Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii (August 4, 1961) to Ann Dunham (born in Wichita) and Barack Obama Sr. from Kenya. He’s the only president to hail from this US outpost in the Pacific. 21 of the 50 states can claim to be birthplaces of at least one leader.
Most presidents were born in Virginia (8), followed by Ohio (7), New York (4) and Massachusetts (4). Have a look here for a complete list of which president was born where.
