During the last academic year, 28 of Ireland’s top-third-level institutions made just under €400 million in fees.
Six years ago, that amount stood at just €185 million, starkly illustrating the huge burden being placed on Irish families and students today. UCD made the most in fees last year, taking in €40.5 million, followed by UCC’s €33.7 million.
