Religion is in decline across the UK. According to the British Social Attitudes Survey, 48 percent of the public now describe themselves as having no religion.
Data from the 2011 census shows that Scotland is home to the most people identifying as having “no religion”, some 36.7 percent. Wales in in second place with 32.1 percent. Northern Ireland is the UK’s main religious stronghold with only 10 percent of people there saying they have “no religion”.
