Around the world, 50 countries regulated women’s religious attire in 2012 and 2013.
12 of them required women to wear a certain dress while 39 had had laws limiting attire. Although Russia bans headscarves, hijabs or niqabs in Stavropol, the county has laws requiring hijabs in public buildings in Chechnya.
