One of the key factors cited by many pro-Brexit voters in the UK is the amount of immigrants that are able to enter the country due to the freedom of movement inherent to the European Union.
While net immigration has risen over the last ten years, the infographic below shows that the situation is certainly not just a one way street.
At 4.9 million, the United Kingdom was in 2015 the country which had the the tenth largest amount of emigrants spread around the world and with that the top European country. In this sense, the UK is rubbing shoulders with the likes of India, in first place with 15.6 million, China, and Syria.
