Democracy: to be or not to be?

The worst human tragedy in the 20th century was arguably communism, which not only lasted far longer than WWII, but also caused far more deaths and misery than WWII!

The worst human tragedy in the 21st century undoubtedly has been, and will continue to be, democracy (one person, one vote). Despite the fact that it has been a proven failure throughout human history, democracy has been fashioned as something new (Democracy in America), causing chaos world-wide and huge numbers of deaths, especially in the Middle East (Europe-Grapples with Worst Refugee Crisis Since WWII), with the far worse and the worst yet to come …

In short, democracy has apparently replaced communism as the most destructive force on earth!

1. Democracy

Democracy is a proven failure throughout human history.

Democracy is mob rule and chaos.

Democracy is a precursor to communism.

Democracy appeared to have worked in the West, especially after WWII, because the West could afford it, thanks to its superb capitalism. Democracy does not work in the West anymore, because the West can no longer afford it, thanks to the rise of the rest (vs. the West) as genuine economic competitors, represented by BRICS led by China!

Here are my three simple messages to the world:

  1. China: Your current system (i.e. “state capitalism”) has proven to be the best for China, ever! So stick with it and make it even better via constant improvement! For more, read: Towards an Ideal Form of Government.
  2. America: Fundamentally reform the political system as I have suggested (Solution for America (Version 3)), or fail like other democracies (e.g. Greece, ancient or modern)!
  3. The rest of the world: If you are already a democracy, reform as I have suggested to America. If you are not stuck with democracy yet, abandon it and adopt the China model!

Let me elaborate on each.

2. China

As the longest continual civilization in human history, China suffered a huge set-back throughout the 18th century as well as most of the 19th century. But the worst of it was probably communism (1949-1976), through which tens of millions of people died of purge, persecution, execution, and starvation (e.g. Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution).

Fortunately for China, she seems to have finally found her own route to success! State capitalism has been great for China – not only has it lifted some 600 million Chinese out of abject poverty over the past three decades, it will also propel China, by 2025, to become the largest economy in the world again, as it was from 0001 to 1890, mostly!

Three informative readings:

  1. America: What is China, Anyway?
  2. America: What is China’s Political System, Anyway?
  3. Chinese Presidency: An Earned Kingship for 10 Years.

The image below highlights the key differences between China and America today.

3. America

America is a young country, with a short history of less than 240 years.

America is a great country. For example, without America’s active participation in WWII, today, the French would likely be speaking German and the Chinese would likely be speaking Japanese.

America is still an experiment. For example, built as a representative republic, America evolved from a limited democracy in 1776, when only about 5% of the population had the right to vote (U.S. voting rights timeline), to a true democracy (one person, one vote) in 1965 (Voting Rights Act of 1965), when the fundamentally wrong racial discrimination was finally fixed by law!

Unfortunately for America, true democracy (aka “American Democracy 1.0”) appeared to be working until the turn of the 21st century, when the bottom fell out. Since then, America has been in a steep decline, so precipitously that it has become questionable whether American democracy will even out-last Soviet communism in longevity (Longevity: American Democracy vs. Soviet Communism)!

Fortunately for America, I believe I have the most accurate diagnosis for America (Diagnosis for America (Version 3)) as well as the best solution (Solution for America (Version 3)). But will America listen? If yes, “American Democracy 2.0” may have a chance to survive! For more, read: Democracy in America.

4. The rest of the world

Let us be absolutely clear: prosperity in the West comes from capitalism, not democracy! For more, read: Democracy Prevailed over Communism, Really?

Here is the future for four cases:

  1. If you are a democracy (e.g. Western Europe), reform as I have suggested to America!
  2. For a former communist country (e.g. the Eastern Bloc), adopt the China model if you still can (e.g. Hungary’s Authoritarian Descent).
  3. For a communist country like Cuba, adopt the China model!
  4. For a 3rd-world country, adopt the China model, even if it may mean a reversal from democracy, as in Egypt (Sisi vs. ISIS: Dictatorship vs. Mob Rule)!

5. Discussion

As previously stated, democracy has been a proven failure throughout human history. Yet, it has been hyped by the West, especially America, not only has something new, but also as possibly the permanent winner of human evolution – Totally ridiculous! For more, read: Democracy in America.

Worse yet, America has been trying to export it, even by force – Totally outrageous! For more, read: What’s The Real Cost of The Iraq War?

Worst of all, by spreading democracy, the West has been fomenting a world-wide religious war, which may ultimately result in WWIII! For more, read: Weapons of Mass Destruction.

In short, democracy has apparently replaced communism as the worst destructive force on earth since WWII (UNHCR plans for 450,000 Mediterranean refugees in 2016)!

6. Closing

Democracy is now the most destructive man-made force on earth! To gain additional insight, watch this video:
