Incredibly, some American tech interns rake in more money than the median American household in the United States.
According to the Census Bureau, that is $53,046 a year, yet some companies like Pilantir and VMware pay their interns much more.
When it comes to the highest average monthly base pay for interns in the United States, those two companies occupy first and second place on the list, paying $7,012 and $6,966 respectively. Twitter comes a close third at $6,791 while LinkedIn occupies fourth place with an average monthly base pay level for interns of $6,230.
Facebook rounds off the top five. The popular social network also pays its interns extremely well – an average of $6,213 per month.
