Econintersect: An audit by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration has found that the IRS has “established sufficient plans to provide customer service to taxpayers regarding tax implications under the Affordable Care Act“. However, any changes in the schedules or details of implementation could cause difficulties for the agency, including outreach, education,employee training and maintaining tax forms availability. Implementation by the IRS includes the assessment of tax penalties in lieu of insurance coverage and payment of tax credits for premiums based on income.
