Econintersect: This week our documentary comes from Fox Business in two parts. These two videos were uploaded to YouTube 09 September 2009 by Larry Doyle, the author of “In Bed With Wall Street” which will be released to booksellers this Tuesday 07 January 2014. The matters being discussed in the two videos are centered on the Bernie Madoff Ponzi fraud case and the regulatory failures in that situation.
Larry Doyle on Fox Business News 03 September 2009.
Here is the description of the videos at YouTube:
Watch “America’s Nightly Scoreboard” hosted by David Asman as he gathers a panel to discuss the Amerivet Securities complaint vs. FINRA. Guests include: attorney for Amerivet, Richard Greenfield; former SEC Chair, Harvey Pitt; Wall Street veteran and Sense on Cents financial commentator, Larry Doyle; Head of Madoff Victims Coalition for Investor Protection, Ronnie Sue Ambrosino and her husband Domenic.
The discussion of these two videos has been expanded and supported with extensive references by Larry Doyle in his book. Doyle presents evidence in the book which contradicts the statements made by Harvey Pitt. Back in 2009 he presented some of the facts involved with FINRA and abrogation of responsibility in investment markets. In this program Pitt conceded only minor points to Doyle. Pitt wavered in the extent to which he endorsed regulatory transparency.
The first video is almost 10 minutes long and the second 8 1/2 minutes. Larry Doyle first appears on the second video (at about the 2 1/2 minute mark).
You can get all the documentation and references about the matters discussed here in the book as well as learn about many more cases that reveal the general environment of corruption that has permeated the regulation of financial firms with regard to protection of the public from fraud.
You can pre-order In Bed with Wall Street: The Conspiracy Crippling Our Global Economy, that will be published by Palgrave Macmillan on January 7, 2014.
