The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, has sparked a lot of controversy in the United States. Its opponents are spending a lot of money to advertise against the health care reform, that is one of Obama’s key achievements during his presidency.

According to Kantar Media, the highest estimated expenditure on anti-Obamacare advertising is occurring in areas where Senate Democrats are up for re-election in 2014. This expenditure has been specifically focused on political television ads.

Interestingly, most of the money is being spent in markets where a high percentage of the population is uninsured. Charlotte in North Carolina tops the list after spending an estimated $710,860 dollars on advertising critical of the Affordable Care Act. At the same time, 23 percent of people in Charlotte do not have health insurance.

Cleveland and Washington DC round off the top three with expenditure of $703,140 and $627,330 respectively. In Cleveland, 17.1 percent of people are uninsured – in Washington DC, the number is 15.3 percent.
