Econintersect: PR Newswire, Los Angeles, 24 Feb. 2012 — On February 24th, coinciding with the kickoff of entertainment industry Oscar parties, 
a delegation consisting of top officials from the Tianjin Municipal Government led by Tianjin Vice Mayor Cui Jindu, and top executives from The Tianjin Innovative Finance Investment Company (TIFI), China Investment Corporation (CIC) and The Yintai Group, attended a dinner hosted by Mrs. Joan Dangerfield (Rodney’s widow) and Mr. Justin Han of the Opus 73 Group.
The event introduced Hollywood industry leaders to this group of Chinese financial leaders who are on their first official visit to Los Angeles, following last week’s visit by Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping, to explore joint ventures, partnerships, and projects of mutual economic and cultural benefit. Business tycoon Kirk Kerkorian and multi-award winning music producer David Foster are among the confirmed attendees. The event took place at the Hollywood Hills home of Mrs. Dangerfield.The spotlight at this event was the ongoing development of the Binhai New Area in the port city of Tianjin. The Binhai New Area is a Special Economic Zone consisting of 9 zones spanning 876.5 square miles in land area that has been earmarked by the Central Government as China‘s next engine of economic development after Shenzhen in the 80s, and Shanghai‘s Pudong in the 90s. A focal point of the project is the construction of the Yujiapu Financial District, which upon completion will become the largest financial district in the world.
Spearheaded by Chairman Li Bo of the Tianjin Innovative Finance Investment Company (TIFI), the Yujiapu project has attracted investments and partnerships from Fortune 500 companies all around the world, including a $2 Billion USD joint venture with the Rockefeller family to build the Rose Rock International Financial Center in the heart of the financial district. A world-class performing arts complex advised by Lincoln Center and a state-of-the-art exhibition centre will also be built making the city a center for finance in China, but also a leader in entertainment and the arts in Asia. The city of Tianjin has also built a high speed rail system which puts the city within an hour’s reach of nearly 200 million people from surrounding cities.
The evening was hosted by Opus 73, a Beverly Hills consulting firm founded by partners Joan Dangerfield and Justin Han. Leveraging decades of experience, well forged relationships, as well as international business and marketing expertise. Opus 73 will be working with The Tianjin Innovative Finance Investment Company (TIFI) to identify and facilitate partnerships, marrying the most successful and elite companies and brands with the Yujiapu Financial District in the Great City of Tianjin. Also joining the delegation are strategic partners Marcelo Carvalho d’Andrade, founder of Pro-Natura International who will be attending in support of Tianjin‘s eco sustainable city plan, and Regina Rubino of Image Global Vision.
