Econintersect: The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) increased 0.7% month-over-month in October 2011. Econintersect analysis has determined that year-over-year Federal Reserves Industrial Production (IP) index growth has been flat for the last five months – and IP was headlined for October 2011 with a 0.7% month-over-month gain also.
Production in three of the four regional sectors increased in August:
- Regional machinery sector production increased 0.3%;
- Regional auto sector production moved up 2.3%;
- Regional steel sector output declined 0.4%; and
- Regional resource sector output increased 0.5%.
