Econintersect: The first traces of radiation from the nuclear plant disaster in Japan have reached the U.S. east coast. Detectable traces of radiation have been reported by the major electrical companies in the southestern U.S., Progress Energy, Duke Energy and Scana Corp.
The amounts of radiation detected so far are very small. The electric companies will be conducting continuing monitoring going forward.From the Raleigh News & Observer:
