Econintersect: All ten major markets in Europe followed by GEI declined Thursday (March 10, 2011). The leaders in the sell-off were Oslo (-1.8%), London(-1.6%), Amsterdam and Madrid, down 1.1% each, and Franfurt almost 1% lower. The smallest loss was in Brussels, -0.4%.Other significant losses were Paris -0.8%, Stockholm -0.7% and Genevs -0.6%. The large losses in Oslo and London could be linked to the decline in oil prices. In recent days Oslo and London had been stronger than the rest of Europe as oil prices rose, based on the roles of Norway and UK as North Sea oil producers.
