Econintersect: Two European bourses advanced Wednesday, if you can call a gain of 0.004% in Geneva and 0.09% in Oslo significant advances. Otherwise, the eight other major markets in Europe experienced losses from 0.9% (Brussels) to 1.7% (Frankfurt).The U.S. was down across every index listed on Yahoo Finance except for the Amex Composite Index and the NYSE International 100. The 33 other indexes listed by Yahoo were down. The NASDAQ Composite lost 1.2%, The Dow Jones Industrials lost 0.9% and the S&P 500 was down 0.6%.
