Econintersect: The nine major European bourses open on Wednesday all closed with gains for the day. This followed a strengthening of Far East markets late in their sessions to end the day with most exchanges higher after being more negative in midday trading.The strongest European exchanges were Paris (+1%), Brussels (0.9%) and London (+0.8). Markets still have an hour remaining open in New York, with most indexes are up modestly there.
