Econintersect: Rail traffic YoY growth continues to narrow in week 5 of 2011 ending 05 February according to Railfax.
The big growth in rail traffic occured in the 1st quarter of 2010 – and year-over-year comparisions will shortly be compared to larger base data.
Rail traffic in the current week dropped from 6.6% year-to-date over 2010 levels to -0.6% in this fifth week of the New Year. Year-to-date gains fell from 7.8% last week to 6.1% this week.
